First break picking

First breaks based strictly on offset, near surface velocity, and system delay time are computed and saved in the trace headers during the merge of the seismic and navigation data. These computed first breaks are used as the basis for the geometry QC. Automatic first break picks of the seismic data may be made in batch mode using the First Break Pick or Residual Nav processors, and interactively using the 2D Edit Display or the Geometry Workshop. Once the first breaks are picked, they may be output to ASCII files for further processing in other software (refraction statics or coordinate computation). Within SeisNav Resolve, the first break picks may be compared to the computed first breaks and they may be used to re-compute coordinates.
